Evolving Innovative Solutions™ - Since 1993
Chiayi, Taiwan - Dr. David Fogel, president of Natural Selection, Inc., provided an invited lecture at the National Cheng Chung University (NCCU) in Chiayi, Taiwan today. The topic of his lecture was "An Introduction to Evolutionary Computation and Modeling Games in Nature." Dr. Fogel's lecture described the foundation for simulating evolution on computers and addressed specific issues in modeling evolutionary games in nature. "Living organisms are always playing games," said Dr. Fogel. "We seek mathematical models to explain those games and the behavior we observe. But so far evolutionary game theory has not excelled in predicting those behaviors. It may be that alternative methods of modeling individual-based behavior may offer some advantages, and that's what I was pleased to be able to present today." Dr. Fogel will present a keynote lecture at the 10th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems in Taipei on May 4, 2011.
