Dr. David Fogel Becomes President-Elect of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society

La Jolla, CA – Dr. David Fogel, CEO of Natural Selection, Inc., officially took the position of President-Elect for the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society today. He will become President of the society from 2008-2009. The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society is one of many societies in the IEEE, the world’s largest organization of professional engineers. The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society focuses on machine intelligence based on inspiration from nature, including neural, fuzzy, and evolutionary computation and has over 5700 members currently. “I’m extremely pleased to be able to continue to serve the society and its members’ interests,” said Dr. Fogel. “I’m looking forward to an exciting year of new developments and applications in many areas, including medicine, industry, finance, and more.” Dr. Fogel also serves as General Chairman of the 2007 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence, which will be held April 1-5, 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa. The meeting will feature over 600 technical presentations by researchers and practitioners from around the world.
