Dr. David Fogel Presents Keynote Lecture at Modeling and Simulation for Military Applications Conference

Orlando, FL – Dr. David Fogel, CEO of Natural Selection, Inc., presented a keynote lecture at the Society for Photonics and Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) Modeling and Simulation for Military Applications conference today. The conference is held as part of the Defense and Security Symposium at the Gayload Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The meeting's technical program, which spans four days, is organized by leading researchers and scientists at the Air Force Research Laboratory, the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, and the University of Iowa. Dr. Fogel's lecture, titled "Foundations of Evolutionary Computation," reviewed many historical contributions to the field of evolutionary computation, and pointed toward new directions of research that can be pursued with today's faster computers.

"I'm pleased to have this opportunity to participate in this new conference sponsored by SPIE. There are many opportunities for applying evolutionary computing to military modeling and simulation.
