Dr. Gary Fogel Presents Lecture at San Diego Bioinformatics Forum

Del Mar, CA – Dr. Gary Fogel, Vice President of Natural Selection, Inc., will present a lecture at the February meeting of the San Diego Bioinformatics Forum today. The meeting is scheduled for the offices of Neurocrine Biosciences in Del Mar from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. Dr. Fogel’s lecture, titled, “Computational Intelligence Applications in Bioinformatics,” will provide an overview of promising results and case studies to highlight the importance of computational intelligence applications in biology. These will include drug docking, RNA structure prediction, transcription factor binding site and microRNA gene identification, gene expression analysis, and toxicology.

“I am pleased to have been invited to present the results of our recent bioinformatics efforts and to help foster interest in these methods. Clearly there are many problems in biology that can benefit from computational intelligence approaches. I hope that this lecture helps to facilitate interest in Natural Selection’s efforts in this regard,” said Dr. Fogel.
