Natural Selection Inc.'s Microarray Optimization Work Referenced in Pharmaceutical Discovery
La Jolla, CA Dr. Gary B. Fogel’s work on the use of computational intelligence to optimize microarrays has been cited in the December issue of Pharmaceutical Discovery. The article referencing Dr. Fogel, “Microarrays on the Spot: Year in Review,” highlighted the top advancements made in microarray technology in the past year. Dr. Fogel, Vice President of Natural Selection, Inc., has contributed to research in this area by studying how computational tools such as neural networks and evolutionary computation can be used to support microarray analysis in pattern recognition, particularly for class prediction and class discovery. He authored an article on the subject in the October edition of Pharmaceutical Discovery, titled, "Gene Expression Analysis Using Methods of Computational Intelligence."
