Dr. Gary Fogel Serves as Discussion Panelist at the International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition

San Diego, CA – Dr. Gary Fogel, Vice President of Natural Selection, Inc., served as a panelist today at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, held at the San Diego Catamaran Hotel. The panel discussion convened during a workshop at the conference entitled, “Computer Vision Methods for Bioinformatics,” to discuss current and future applications of computers in pattern recognition, specifically for biological problems. The panel addressed the application of computational intelligence methods to bioinformatics, and discussed future opportunities for this area of research. Dr. Fogel was invited to participate on the panel as Chair of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Technical Committee on Bioengineering and Bioinformatics.
