Dr. Gary Fogel to Present Keynote Lecture at the IPCAT 2005 Conference on "Applications of Computational Intelligence to Pattern Discovery in Biological Systems"

La Jolla, CA – Dr. Gary Fogel, Vice President of Natural Selection, Inc., will present the keynote lecture at the Information Processing in Cells and Tissues (IPCAT) Conference, to be held August 30 to September 1 at St. William's College, York, United Kingdom.

Titled, “Applications of Computational Intelligence to Pattern Discovery in Biological Systems,” Dr. Fogel’s lecture will discuss signal recognition and discovery from biological sequence and image data using evolved neural networks and other machine learning algorithms. The results are important in the advancing areas of genomics and systems biology. The IPCAT conference will be held just prior to the annual Congress on Evolutionary Computation in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
