La Jolla, CA -- Dr. David Fogel, CEO of Natural Selection, Inc.®, is featured in the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering Spring 2004 Newsletter. The feature article presents Dr. Fogel’s work on the Blondie24 technology, in which a computer taught itself to play checkers at expert level using an evolutionary neural network. Dr. Fogel is the co-creator of Blondie24 and an alumni of UCSD. Also featured in the article is an overview of Natural Selection, Inc.®'s recent SBIR awards and the company’s other current computational projects, including applications in bioinformatics, financial forecasting, and homeland security.
