Dr. David Fogel Presents Invited Lecture at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Baltimore, MD – Dr. David Fogel, CEO of Natural Selection, Inc®., presented a lecture at the invitation of Dr. John Schnase in the Information Science & Technology Colloquium Series at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His lecture, titled “Evolutionary Computation: Toward a New Philosophy of Machine Intelligence,” covered a wide range of applications of evolutionary computation in signal processing, pattern recognition, modeling, and machine learning. The Spring 2003 Colloquium Series has featured speakers such as Dr. Luis Rocha (Los Alamos National Laborator), Dr. Alex Meystel (Drexel University), and will also include Dr. Erik Winfree (CalTech) and Dr. Larry Smarr (UCSD). Dr. Fogel addressed specific examples in ocean acoustic modeling, breast cancer classification, sonar signal processing, and game playing, including a demonstration of the Blondie24 program, now marketed under the title “Evolutionary Checkers Starring Blondie24” published by Digenetics, Inc., a sister-company of Natural Selection, Inc®.
