Natural Selection, Inc ®. Participates in NSF SBIR Phase I Grantees’ Workshop

Washington D.C. – Dr. David Fogel, CEO of Natural Selection, Inc ®., participated in the National Science Foundation’s SBIR Phase I Grantee’s Workshop as a principal investigator of an ongoing Phase I award. The research and development seeks to explore the effectiveness of evolving object neural networks for pattern recognition, particularly in the area of game playing. “We are already getting very good results by evolving simple object neural networks for evaluating board positions in chess,” said Dr. Fogel. He continued, “We expect to be able to transfer this technology into evolutionary entertainment products marketed by Digenetics, Inc., including their upcoming launch of ‘Chess with an Attitude!’, which allows players to compete against realistic video opponents that rely on evolutionary intelligence.” Digenetics, Inc. is a sister-company of Natural Selection, Inc. For more information their products in evolutionary entertainment, please visit Digenetics, Inc. at www.digenetics.com .
