Dr. David Fogel Opens the 2002 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence

Honolulu, HI -- Dr. David Fogel, CEO of Natural Selection, Inc.^®, opened the 2002 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI2002) today at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Fogel serves as the general chairman of this event, which is a combined meeting of the 2002 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, the 2002 Congress on Evolutionary Computation, and the 2002 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems. The IEEE Neural Networks Society is the main sponsor of the WCCI event, which is held every four years. This year, WCCI features 6 plenary lectures, 15 special lectures, 21 tutorials, over 20 special sessions and special tracks, and approximately 1150 technical presentations from scientists, students, and practitioners internationally. WCCI promises to be the largest meeting of computational intelligence researchers to date in the 21st century.
