La Jolla, CA -- Dr. David Fogel, chief executive officer of Natural Selection, Inc.^® , was selected by the science society Sigma Xi for recognition as their 2002 Southwest Regional Young Investigator. Dr. Fogel is one of a handful of such honorees from across the United States. The award is given for outstanding interdisciplinary research and candidates must be within 10 years of receiving their doctorate degree. Dr. Fogel's research in evolutionary computation, bridging the gap between computer science and biology, was indicated for recognition.
