Dr. Lawrence Fogel Gives Plenary at 1997 Semiotics Conf.

La Jolla, CA: Dr. Lawrence J. Fogel, president of Natural Selection, Inc. in La Jolla, CA, will serve as a plenary speaker at the Intelligent Systems and Semiotics: A Learning Perspective (ISAS97) Conference, held at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD, Sept. 22-25, 1997. Dr. Fogel's address "Optimizing Evolutionary Computation," will focus on the historical development of evolutionary algorithms and the prospects for practical implementation of these techniques. Additional plenary speakers include Dr. James S. Albus and Dr. Alexander M. Meystel of NIST, and Prof. Lotfi A. Zadeh of UC Berkeley.
